The Venetian story

The Venetian carnival carries a veil of mystery thanks to attractiveness and elaborateness of fancy dresses and the mystery of faces hidden under masks. The composition is a sketch of time depicting a scene on a Venetian pier that must have played out numerous times during the carnival: a cavalier and a lady on a channel bank, heading towards the city center to join the festival. Or maybe they are completely unknown and are striving to escape the noise of the masquerade. The sculpture does not focus the viewer’s attention exclusively on the couple, as they are an indispensable part of this carnival, just as a gondola and small waves, calmly lapping on the shore. The open storyline of the composition allows the viewer to reconstruct the story of his own, whereas all the surroundings and details put him into the mysterious atmosphere of this wonderful festival.
